Fitment of 4.6 Diff Gears

Post by brads4wdmad »

Guys can anyone recommend anybody in the newcastle-maitland areas that would fit 4.6 diff gears into my GQ Patrol
I have had a few quotes and there all up around $1600 - $2000 and i am supplying the new Gears Crown wheel and pinion and get trade on the bearings and seals etc

Or does that price sound right?
Cheers

So are you taking the centers in there and they just fit to the centers, or they are rippin the diffs apart?

Sounds very exxxy to me. I thought ARB quoted around 300 per diff to fit lockers, which isnt much different.

good lck finding a reputable diff company wo will do it for anything like $300

$1600 is to much though, may be worth sending or taking the centres to sydney, hornsby diffs are excelent

its actually a bit different, because you are setting up new pinions. When you fit a a locker you dont touch the pinion at all.

I posted this on the 4WDA forum:

Doesn't sound right at all.

Should be around 400-500 per diff.
So a grand all up for labour would be more the ballpark figure.

It's not all that hard, just time consuming.
I have just fitted diff gears and front+rear Air Lockers to my Patrol.
Would have been probably 4-5 hours each end including the lockers!
