lsd centre to suit 40 series diffs
just spoke to my local diff guru at newcastle gearbox and diff and he has advised me that you can put later model lsd centres into the 40 series housing with no modifaction. is this right? is it a specific model? he told me 60, 75 and 80 series centres will be a direct bolt up.
any help would be great

been told that one of the lokka diff locks in the rear is good enough for an fj, no real need to spend another grand on top for an arb one.
now all i got to do is find a local person who sells them. or travel to sydney.
while im at it, rock crawler leaf springs, anyone using them? any good? anything better?

from what 4wd1 told me they were aussie made. but then again the bird i was speaking to didnt know what a greasable shackle pin was, which they sell. so i dont know if she really knows. all i want are some decent springs that are made locally. it shouldnt really be that hard

it is a jap car. but not much is jap left on it. just about all new panels on it all in aussie steel. only thing left jap is the motor box and diff housings
i would change it but why mess with something that works so good.
ive heard mixed things about dobinsons springs. 2 people have told me to steer clear because they have sagged on there cars. both 60 series. but then again they probably over loaded them or something. they cant be too bad with all the other stuff he does.
ended up purchasing a lokka today. should have it within the fortnight. and hopefully buying the arb locker from a bloke on the forum who is selling one. all going ahead now.

See post 12.
I'll be corrected, but from what I've read and the research I've done, the Lokka and Aussie Locker are the same thing.
There are many, many posts on ih8mud stating that the Aussie variant is the best..

from all accounts less complaints then the aussie versions.
