hey guys well i bought a 60 series as my first car and at the start of the year blew the motor up so eva since its been in the garage slowly doing bits and pieces to it and i got another motor for it for $300 told it was a runner so put my head on the block as had a full reco 1 sitting there and put it all together and got it fired up and seems its got a broken piston
now as ive been slack and have had a comoodore its been since the start of the year since ive blown it up and only just recently started that motor and found out so pretty pissed off so now either got the choice do i rebuild that bottom end or find another 1 cheap?
what do you's rekon ideally id rather a bent 8 but police dont like that with p platers as they dont no shit bout car power
what ya reckong rebuild bottom end? how much will that cost you reckon?
or find another block? anyone no of 1?
im a apprentice mechanic so dont have all the money in the world but have the skill to do it myself and want this thing on road badly as commodore is getting me into trouble
Find another Good runner 3F even if ya have to buy a compleet truck my 500 buck 60 has a corker 3F in it there out there cheap ya just have to look around

Its like anything the japs do.... The 80 series 3f being the last 3f had a lighter flywheel, short skirt pistons, an oil to water cooler on the side of the block, efi on the auto varient, they played with camshafts on the efi and stuffed it up (extra 2 or 3 kw but max torque raised from 1800 to 2200 rpm with an auto behind it) To put it frankly, there isnt much you can do for a 3f which was designed by chev in the 50's
