just after some thoughts thanks [/i]
What i think he was saing is whether it is worth it depends on its price. TD42s are known to go for longer than that without major problems, but It will likely need some work in the nearish future, but if the price takes that into account then perhaps it is the truck for you - if they are asking 25k then its pobably not worth it , if they are asking 5k then it probably is.
I would assume its price is somewhere in the middle of that. Have a look around, see how much more a low km's one in similar condition is going for and make a decision on that.
Cheers

The klms "*IF*" it has a great service history shouldnt be an issue.
Theres dozens and dozens of them with 500,000klms on them still going strong. This maybe one of them, it may not.
But it would wanna be cheap, down around $15-18k... depending on year, accessories, rego, mods, etc.

I got my 1992 GQ coil ute in 2001 with 335,000km, still goin strong. All I have had to do to it was an alternator in 2005 (oil seal on vac pump started to leak) Injector pump and injectors (2003 pump started to leak fuel because of old style seals) Wheel bearing (proberly due to playing in mud holes) hand brake shoes.
Now has 409,000km and going strong.
If the price is good and is in good enough condition I would not hesitate.
Do the usual checks though, mech stuff, cracks ect.
