Its now in having gas tanks fitted and dyno'd. will post some figures when complete.
Should be ready next wednesday. I would imagine it will need another converter before I will get any wild dyno figures. This may come with time.
Just a stating point
Ok a run down.
Turbo: is a chinese hybrid, WS series. (I don't have details here atm)
Manifold: is an rb26 high mount modified with lazer cut TB42 flange.
Intercooler: Is one I Had custom made
Fuel: A Gas Research throttle body, single B2 converter
Ignition: Petronix Igniter, trigering an ICE ignition module and an ICE ignition coil (Locked timing)
Brackets and heat sheilds: I fabricated from 2mm steel and aluminium heat sheild from a performance shop
bonnet scoop, Air Box: Off a GU zd30. from wreckers.
All up I think I have spent around $5500 It adds up real quick.
Probs I had.
Exhaust Manifold: Once modified, did not allow enough clearance for nut and washer to bolt up under middle 2 cylinders, Had to shorten the stud and not use washer. A lesson learnt for next time.
Cooler: 10mm higher would have been handy. boost charge pipe to converter just hits bottom of cooler.
Cooler: If I done it again I would move the cooler back 50mm. to allow for better flowing piping and ease of install.
All in all it went pretty smooth. car has been off the road for a week and a half now. if the gasfitter was faster it would already be back on road. Having a large rear tank fitted and 2 scuba tanks in middle. Can't wait for some results.
Job not finished yet. Once I have it back I will be making a shroud to sel on the top of the cooler to divert all air through cooler. aswell as many more bits and peices.
I'm unsure of price on scuba tanks yet coz I havn't picked it up. they only hold 27ltrs each but every bit counts.
Does any1 know the best way to store heaps of gas and not have it in your cab? scuba tanks is the only way I could find but its not alot more gas. Has any1 else been able to get more gas in
there was a guy on here who had a second large tank under the drivers side where they normally fit the aux fuel tank.
I think it was around 60odd litres, he had part numbers too from memory.
I was looking for it only the other day - but with the search engine on this side, some things a difficult to find. if i do find it - ill link it here.
The only issue i can see (possibly) is the lack of flexibility in the intake pipe from the air box into the turbo. You might find that with engine movement you could be stressing the joins there.
Should be interesting to see the dyno figures and some video!

Not sure bout the battery yet. It is a little to close for my liking. I have made a small heat sheild to protect the battery. only time will tell if this will be enough.
anothyer heat sheild or larger one shoud do the job. I'm a little worried it will heat the batterey tray and the tray will melt the batterey.
yea thats what i was worried about when i did mine, if u want a bigger shield, go to a ford wrecker and ask for the heat shield out of a ba sedan boot, they are massive , and plyable

hey leary393 got a question for you, what type of ice ignition module to you use?
i've got an ice 7amp module on the bench do you know if this would work with a pertronix igniter like your setup?
I'm looking for a better ignition as mine is playing up with the charger, at the moment its using a piranha electronic setup (could maybe use this as the trigger) with a bigger coil but is still causing problems.
Nice work on your Patrol. Have you had it dyno'd yet? Your turbo looks like a KKR Turbo unit. I tried one of these on my TB42 and found it had a over boost problem. I tried modifying the waste gate but it didn't make much difference. I ended up changing to a garrett roller where I had exhaust housing A/R options. Let me know how you went,
