I'm bored! ideas - what to design/develop next?

Post by 1MadEngineer »

hey guys, I am looking for a new design project. I want to design and develop something for GQ/GU's. I bought a rolling chassis the other week so i can jig stuff up and get better measurements. Here is a few things i have been working on, but if you have any other thoughts let me know.

Which one first (order)?:
- Hydro assist kit specifically for nissans, including how to 'tweak the pumps' + optional pressure gauge?
- Full hightensile belly plate incorporating tcase/mount with proper tailshaft clearance for lifted trucks (tummy tucker!)
- as above but including sliders - so its one big smoooooooth piece! 'boat hull style'
- Pneumatic disconnectable swaybar system (using airlocker style switching)

any help / ideas much appreciated.
cheers
Greg

A US company has developed not only hyd lockable, but also adjustable sway bar mount recently.

from OFFROAD mag in the U.S.

But how about a good 4 link with hydro rack.

Save the broken patrol steering boxes.

Then some really good stronger longer rear arms, a framed.

Count me out on the above, a good idea until dry scrub etc gets 'scooped or built up' on top of it...around the exhaust etc and 'Hmm' you gotta fire problem on your hands.. ;)

Sway bar setup of some sort would be intresting. Variable would be even better. Will be in the market for sway bars before long. So get cracking or I will have to buy from the states.

I have a setup that your thinking about. the boat hull style. However mine was bolt on around the original gearbox crossmember.
check this out for pics etc. And it was mild steel to. Too expensive for anything else.

A good sway bar able to be self fitted would be good.

I cant seem to find any one I can just buy and fit myself.

Cheers Nick

Superior did mention that they were working on something like this a while back, however it was never brought up again.
