who in sydney can do onsite stud/bolt removal ? any1 here?
I need the 4 studs that bolt the turbo on to the exhaust manifold removed and dont want to pull the manifold off.
studs are still good, but need some oxy heat before they might budge.
Any takers? or know anyone who will?

if the turbo is already off, what the big deal about taking the manifold off?pongo wrote:I need the 4 studs that bolt the turbo on to the exhaust manifold removed and dont want to pull the manifold off.

it would be far quiker the take the manifold off to do it.
If you are worried about the turbo studs you should also be worried about the manifold studs.

Then you have to easy out or drill and re-thread.
Both options are a pain in the butt if you don't have the right tools.

yeah tried two nuts even after preheat with a gas torch. Usually always works but this time there rusted shut good and proper. Could try and weld the nuts to create a heap of heat first but still might make it worse than it already is.dumbdunce wrote:can't get vice grips on? or two nuts jammed together? spray penetrene/wd40 wtc and leave it for a few days then have a go cold?pongo wrote:In fairfield.dumbdunce wrote:where are you?
