Nistune boards on RB30 computers
Has any one used or had fitted a nistune board and how much are they really? This seems to be the answer to my fuel issues in my patrol. I would love any feedback you guys can give me.
Timing?
I would guess your AFM is the reason you are overfuelling.
Mate I ran a vl high comp with 250rwkw stock computer so nisstune wont solve your problem.
I would start with the cheap stuff first.
Another thing I remember is if you or the person before you ran a oiled air filter there is a good chance of contamination of the afm. This thin film of oil can change mixtures and ignition timing due to altering the load input to the computer.
You can clean this with electrical contact cleaner.
I also hope no one has tryed to ajust the screw on the afm without knowing what they are doing.

there is a way of re adjusting the screw on the afm with a multi meter monitoring it i cant remember what the spec is but im sure if you looked on a vl forum you would find it easily..

I have looked into the software and think it would be good provided the tuner is good, it is capable of doing most things an aftermarket ECU can do, the demand hasn't been great enough for me to spend the coin on the software yet.

I have one in my vl turbo, bit of fine soldering required to remove the original chip.
checkout calaisturbo forums tons of info on the ol RB30 or skylines australia forum.
Nistune is great but i reckon you have other issues (the old wiring looms are pretty crappy these days)
One thing often overlooked is the engine water temp sensor this sensor has a fair influence on injection quantity.
And remember to check all sensors at the ecu end to ensure there is no loom issues.

I'd be after a tuners liscence, at $600, the cable for $95 and a board, depending on the type up to $260. If you were happy to pay $700 I'd fit the board and tune it and keep the software and cable no worries, a lot of the software I've got has been through similar deals, I'm happy to make nothing on the first one and hopefully can get some more tunes to make a buck using it.B.D.R wrote:Joel, is'nt it $400 for the Board, and software, i thought i read those prices some where.
