need help on how to mount some sliders to my 80 series chassis

make up some u shaped plates that can go around the chassis with 2 holes in the top of each plate so these plates have to be longer then the chassis then put your 2 bolts through the holes to secure. from there you can mount your pipe or rhs out to your sliders

hey I'm making a set for my mate at the moment.
I'm going to have five mounts for extra strength which is probably overkill but i like stuff strong. the middle three were easy. just did what Ledgend80 said, the rear one of the middle three you will have to weld the nut onto the inside of the mount as the bolt can not be placed through because of the fuel tank and i couldn't get my hand up there to put the nut in place. this is due to the fuel tank. the front one I'm going to make the mount go between the front arm and the transfer case mount. this will just involve a bit of cutting the bottom of the section of the u bolt mount. the rear i cant see how i can run a bolt up top so i will just make the mount wrap around the bottom but not bolt it. This should be good enough to take the impact. i have also used gussets from the top of the mount down to the slider out as far as i can for strength.

this is how i done mine on the hotti hilux. only 3 tubes back to chassis. these are strong as. 0 flex.
88 hilux - 3rz+ locked
04 prado - that has a second home called toyota service dept
94 comp truck hilux - in the making....

definantly do a bolt on system, if the car is road regersted (i assume that it is) and is has any value, then welded on side steps can make it fail inspection with the only way to then pass rego is to change your chassy. $$$ not to mention that this can create weak points in your chassy opening yourself up to possibly cracking it. done the same research for my truck,, the u shape with top bolts or just plate on other side with bolts accross is def the way to go..
