My uncle owns a mav, and the cig lighter didnt work so he decided to by-pass the fuse and ended up melting the whole wiring harness so anyone know where to get a new one?

um wreckers are probs best bet but even then. they can be rough and just cut wires everywere. um i did have a full petrol lume but chopped bits out of it for various bits and pieces.
mayby try an auto elec and see how much they would want to repair it.
mite almost be easier to sell the car and buy a new one. imo anyway

can i just add they are not the most fun things to fit. it runs from under the passenger seat all the way across the firewall(dash has to come out) then runs thru the firewall at the drivers feet sort of area then all the way round the front of the car to finish at the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay, the thing is probs about 10 metres long. and a job id say not really fun for the faint of heart. lol
.
I second that. I put a lot of effort into marking (numbering) every connection on both ends (plug & socket). Dash has to come out and it's a pain in the neck with to put the loom back into the engine bay. Also, be aware that there are at least three different looms for the TD42, dunno about the TB42, RB30 or the 2.8 diesel. You gotta get the right one to be compatible with your instrument cluster, switches and plugs at the engine. With all the fiddling around, its at least two days of work.
