Hi guys I have a slight issue of a rooted pinion bearing so because of the age of the diff and the fact that it was second hand when i got it im going to do replace all bearings and seals including axle
first question is how hard is it to do im pretty sure i can handle the wheel bearings and seals but im not sure about doing the center
second question what do people do go genuine bearings and seals or after market and is there any difference between the 4.3 diffs as far as parts go as i dont know what model the diff came from
Thanks Adrian

take the centre out and take it to an expert and get it done right, while that is getting done fix the pinion angle proble then go and pick up the centre and refit
its one thing to replace the bearings and seals, its another to get the slack etc correct

The pinion angle should be ok as he gearbox xmember is spaced down by the drop boxes and the lower arms are longer by about 12 mm
yer i figured once i took the centre out i would say to hard and pay someone to do it but then i wont learn anything will take it out on the weekendand do some more reading

To do it yourself I think you'll need some specialised tools, like a dial guage to measure the backlashAdrianGQ wrote:The pinion angle should be ok as he gearbox xmember is spaced down by the drop boxes and the lower arms are longer by about 12 mm

If you pull the centre out yourself and take it to a diff shop they charge a lot less than if they have to pull it.
