Compressed spring length (RRC) I need a favour!

Post by GRIMACE »

I would like a few different measurements from some of the 3 and 4" lifted rangie classics to get an idea of where my springs are currently sitting in an average scheme of lift kits.

I always thought my rangie was way over 4" lift and too high, but after looking at it today I think it's settled down quiet well.

Just so everyone gets the same measurement, I am measuring compressed spring lengths (at standard ride hieght), from top to bottom of springs only (include lengths of spacers if used).

My front measures in at about 330mm and the rear at approx 415mm

It sits arse up but is completely empty right now. Keen to see what others measurements are.

Cheers

My 3 door Disco stock was 218 front, 284 rear. You show over 4" on the front and 5" on the rear.

My 90 was 245 and 311 mm when stock.

Nope, still rediculous

I have also sent young Tim a message to messure his. He is running Shane's 3inch flexy coils in a TDi which apparently sits at about 4inches. I will post up his response.

The best thing about it is with a 1" body lift and the front tubed all I need to do is cut and raise the rear section of the back wheel well about 2" and I could easily fit 40" Sticky Trepadors :D

Response from Tim running Shane's 3inch flexi coils in his Disco.

Sitting on flat ground, from bottam spring plate to top spring mount in the rear is 420mm
And front 340mm

The suspension is pretty much new so has not really settled so may drop a touch.

Grimace,

Not a Rangie, but my 2" lifted d90 has 320mm front and 375mm rear.

(Edited the rear as just realised it still has the roof tent on and about 100kg of other stuff in the back!)
