I would have thought it would be under warranty! The Kenwood systems as far as I know are unique to Mitsubishi and you will find dealers don't get them repaired they replace the whole unit. I think you might be struggling to find anyone in Melb to repair it.

We are not pushing any warranty claims due to the way it may have been damaged.
We had it at a dealer in Adelaide several weeks ago and found the following:
-Sat Nav DVD is missing and there are none in Australia. The dealer got a new satnav DVD from a new car but it would not load into the unit.
-Touch screen only says insert DVD.
-Radio works but there is not indication on screen, it just says insert DVD.
-You can insert a movie DVD, you hear sound but no picture.

in all honesty u could buy a new indash dvd player and have it installed cheaper than u can get the factory ones fixxed,

also the satnav dvd's are suprisingly expensive, u may however be able to find someone who has the same unit as yours and burn there disc but it might be indivdualy coded
