I own a 1996 Triton dual cab 4WD. It has a 2.6L 4G54 petrol engine in it. I need to replace it and have found a recon 6G72 engine from out of an earlier triton. Will it go straight in on do i have to modify the engine bay or engine mounts. Will the existing gearbox work with it? Does it need computerisation as the 6G72 is computerised i believe. Can someone shed a little light on the subject please? Would be greatly appreciated.
try the mitsubishi section on this forum - if it has been done to a 4x4 sombody on this site would knowTriton Ownwer 65 wrote:Although the 6G72 is from an earlier model, my 1996 model came out with a 4G54, 6G72 and the 4D56 diesel so i'm not too worried about legalities. But i will check out the mitsubishi forum. I'm a forum virgin so please forgive me. lol
