Can't you just pull the fuse out for when you are offroad, stops the pulsing, and put it back in when back on the road. I would suggest (but don't know) that it could be illegal to disable your ABS.ads80 wrote:anyone done this, wanting to know whats involved mech and poss legally??????????

Unless you have some other reason for pulling it out other than just to stop it working when offroad.... some background will help.

thats what i do now, pull the fuse but now its just wasted space under the bonnett and i am wanting to put a second battery there.
am trying to figure the legal side out, it was on option to get it, many dont have it, so if i fully remove it cant see what the problem would be, but im not the expert???????

I think you'll find you can't remove ABS etc as the car would have an ADR on it refering to ABS on that vehicle. If removed it wouldn't comply with ADR's thus illegal.
You can still get a 2nd battery in on if its a 4.5

I too looked at that one. I was told the battery that goes with it is about the size of a motorbike one and the setup is odd. It's there for when you have flattened the main battery and this one really only jumps the car to start it and recharge the main one again. Defeats the purpose of dual batteries.

Does Nissan offer that vehicle without in a Pov pack? If so it is reasonable to assume that the ABS can be removed and engineered provided the braking system is the same in all respects to the POV pack vehicle. That is the logic Vic Roads apply to engine upgrades where the engine is a factory option, ie; V6 to V8 Holden.

Pic is a 4.8 but we had the same setup in a 4.5 turbo.
