exhaust and turbo?

I run a 2 1/2 inch system right up to the turbo on my 92 tdi rocky. Have 3 hotdogs in line and it's not loud at all. Just a nice whistle when you put your foot down and the windows open.
If you cut the turbo flange off the factory exhaust its important to machine this out. The max diameter you'll get is about 2 1/4 inch as much more than this will be in the way for the flange bolts.
Personally I would stick to the standard turbo and intercooler. It's a reliable package. You'll get better air flow through a front mount than a top mount anyway.
I used AAA Exhaust, Deacon Ave, Richmond to help out with my exhaust before I moved to WA. They have one of only a few mandrel beanding machines in the state.
Cheers.
