Need to replace the tyres (31x10.5) on the Paj sooner rather than later (4mm tread on front 5mm on rear)
Currently its running Nankang AT's on 15X7's that came with the car, from the service history that came with the car, these tyres have done around 50,000 kays and have driven everything ive pointed it at - albeit nothing overly difficult by OL standards.
The new tyres will be sitting on 15 X 8 Sunnies not that that makes mush difference, but its information for the cause.
Now, I have been looking at things like Maxxis BigHorn & Buckshots - Silverstone AT117 - Kumho KL78 A/t and a few other brands both cheap AND nasty lol.
The car is daily driven to and from work, and also see 500Kay round Hwy trips each month, and mostly i have to drive to and from tracks like everyone else. This being the case, I dont want to make it a dog to drive by putting huge chunky Mudders on it, but I dont want to go backwards in off road performance by fitting H/t's either. I want to get some half decent kays out the tyres, plus all the other fruit that we all want, economical, comfortable, strong and capable in most terains LOL
Should be do-able we think???

My brother runs 31inch silverstone mt117 sports, picked them up for $220 each brand new. Suprisingly they are smooth, quiet and offer brilliant traction off road. Not sure how long they will last but he's been told they should do 40,000ks
Jabber gone. Now have 98 nissan terrano and a 94 4.2ldiesel rv troopy on 33s slowly getting the fancy bits. How the hell do I change my user name?
From the sounds of your description you need an all terrain tire. I have just put a set of Maxxis Bravos on the miss paj and are very happy with them so far. I had the Mt MTZs on it and was very unhappy with them. They were fine for the first 10000 klms and then went to crap.
The Bravos in a 265/75/16 were $230.00 per tire.

Hi mate,
i run the maxxis buckshots and am very happy with them.
I run road tyres too as i want to keep the maxxis as good for offroad as possible, but when they are used on the hard top... like today I am happy with them, a bit louder than my normal tyres but thats to be expected and its not bad. grip wise they actually seem better than my normal tyres and would happily have them as a everyday tyre if running 1 set.
offroad they are good, but obviously not super hard core. they dont clear the tread as well as i would have liked but seem good on rock and work quite well in mud. I will happily buy them again.
hope that helps

I rate the Maxxis as a great allrounder wear well as long as the 4wds looked after accordingly. I run biased tyres off road, but my roadies / easy play tyres are Maxxis 751 bravos and for a "so called cheap and nasty" tyre they're fine! I'll buy them again if these ones ever wear out There no good in mud which doesnt interest me but the bighorns are more for that whereas the 751 are a basic at!
Horses for courses!
By the way my Maxxis 751s are a 33x12.5x15 and only cost 220e!
If ya real cashed up get the new BFGs yeh baby
