Im looking to get the brakes in my HJ75 to work a bit better, with 35's im not that confident on the road in the current brakes im thinking of getting a new master cylinder, recon or new front calipers, new disks and the whole system bled properly.
what i wondering is if anyone else has gone something else besides standard like better calipers or master cylinder that fits? possibly like commodre ones or something off another car?
and did any Hj75's come out with a disk brake rear diff?

i run ln106 hilux calipers and an 80 series master and booster - huge difference. The v6 4runner calipers are bigger again. The master and booster bolt in - just needs an easy shaft extension. The calipers bolt on but you'll have to trim the backing plate slightly (also easy).
the hj75 run's 2x25mm + 2x35mm pistons, wheras the lux calipers are 4x35mm - same as the hzj75. I think the v6 runner calipers are 4x45mm - same as the 80 series.
I don't believe hzj75 or 80 series calipers will bolt on.
Standard rear drums seem to work fine with my fj80 master.

I have a disc brake rear diff in my FJ73 that came out of a late model 75. It really has not improved the braking a great deal but im still running the same system other than that. The hand brake is a let down on the disc brake diff.

so an 80 series master and booster sounds like the go. any specific model of 80 series? my knowledge on landcruisers is not so great. so the v6 4 runner calipers are the ones that just bolt in? also any specific model? cos i will try chase these parts down. and sounds like i can get a disk brake rear eventually will try suss that out.
i think any 89-96 hilux or 4runner calipers will bolt up but don't quote me on that. I understand v6 'runner and possibly later model turbo hilux surf run the biggest pistons. Having said that the smaller lux calipers work really well.
Likewise i'm not aware of any changes to the 80 series master/booster through their production run but it's possible it changed in 93 when they changed the rear calipers. Mine is from a pre-93 petrol model.
