What a LOOSE night it was up there. So much fun, wish it was like that every weekend lol.

Hopefully there wasnt too much rubbish left up there, i think that is one of the reasons why they wanna close it.

Surely you mean " ... hopefully there wasn't ANY rubbish left up there ..."

As one of the many volunteers who have had the infuriating task of cleaning up the bottles, cans, food scraps, burnt out car bodies etc. (LITTER) left and/or deliberately discarded by assorted d!ckheads as they use and abuse the majestic Five Rocks/Three Rivers area I would be fairly peeved if anyone who attended failed to remove their own rubbish !!!!

Who cleans up what was left behind ? The dude who organised the gathering perhaps ?

I guess that the EPA will have no trouble tracking him down via the Forum moderators if they find a mess ...

Good to see that some of the "active" 4wd community looked after there own backyard. Unlike some narrow minded twits who try to mar one of the best nights 5 rocks has seen for a while.

I can't believe you have nothing better to do with your time but try and rag on a forum thread you have no business adding your dribble to.

Good to see that you work on the same lines as the bureaucrats that try to shut places down by tarring everyone with the same brush. Bravo tosser.

I have seen the organiser of the event pickup rubbish countless trips and their family. I think a thankyou to them for their effort on sat night would be more in order. As for the minority of people that litter it should not be left up to just one person to pickup rubbish regardless of the party. It is everyones responsibility. So definitely no finger pointing at one person. 5 rocks is ours and we drive to enjoy not destroy.

I am somewhat bemused that a simple question has resulted in such a tirade of personal abuse. Perhaps it was an emotive response to an emotive question ?

My "crime" it would appear, is to pose the question (paraphrased) "Who is responsible for the cleanup ?".

From the responses it would seem clear that, along with many of others, the Event Organiser (22RE_Lux) accepted that it was his responsibility. More importantly however, he stepped up to the plate and enlisted the assistance of other like minded individuals. He then proactively put in place arrangements to ensure that he could meet his obligation as Event Organiser to remove the mess left behind by those less than enlightened individuals who think that the World is their garbage can.

Nowhere in my posting have I questioned or impinged the reputation of 22RE_lux (or anyone else for that matter). People have every right to gather in a public place and enjoy the company of others and the beautiful natural surroundings. Our clear obligation however is to do so in accordance with the rules and regulations which accompany this use.

Congratulations to 22RE_lux for acknowledging his obligation as the Event Organiser and putting in place arrangements to ensure that others could also enjoy the site in a clean and litter free state afterwards. Well done !

With Public access to areas such as The Orange Bowl under continual (and increasing) threat it is absolutely imperative that each of us continues to follow the fine example set by 22RE_lux. It's a tough act to follow, but I'm up for it ! Are you ?

Oh ! I almost forgot ….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH !

Regards,

Vince.

Mmmm, first things first. Happy 25th Birthday Josh :D , Great to see you have a great night out with plently of mates  . Also extremily impressed with your switched on attitude :P to helping to keep our "Beaches Open" I really appriciate the forward thinging that you have put into staging this event (very very proactive). In regards to the critisim of the "CQ Offroad Club'" by other parties, i am less than impressed. At NO stage have we as a club made any statement. If an individual wants to express himself (which i thought you could do in this country), why do other individuals automaticlally assume that they are representing an organisation or club???? Cheap shots in my book. If you have a challenge with joining a particulair club, that is your issue, why make it everybody elses?

Once again, happy Birthday Josh.

Cheers

ISNT THAT CLEAN UP THAT U VOLUNTER FOR, ORGANISED BY CQ OFFROAD CLUB SO WOULD I AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THE INDIVIDUALS WOULD BE ASSOCIATED TO CLUB?? IT EASY ENOUGH TO THINK THAT..

Well how many times do i have to say it why do you clowns have nothin better to do that type on a thread that has nothing to do with you

I for one dont have a problem with cq offroad. But the clowns who try to berrate other 4wding individuals about there "assumed practices".

By continually making SERIOUS foot in mouth comments then backstepping out of them when they are put in there place. Are what time and time again continue to push enthusiast of professional and recreational 4wding away from the club. Exhibit A and B slick cq and the hulk.

Before you guys try and make ANY comments about others actions you should have a closer look at your own in future.

Thanks for the support guys. And a huge thanks to the boys that did stay back and clean up... they deserve a massive pat on the back.

One thing that I am a little confused about is this event organiser title?
I like it... Never really thought josh as an organiser but!!!
Vince when you ring around and tell the boys to head to the pub for lunch are you an event organiser? and if any trouble goes on at the pub at that point in time are you held accountable?
And then as suggested in your post should the police (EPA) then hunt you down and hold you accountable for the actions of the people you don't know?
It seems so...
I think silly talk like that is what hurts us in total as a 4wd community in Central Queensland... I think in these tuff times with the EPA closing areas and limited access to land we need to work together... not against each other with harmful comments like this... Surely as much as you dislike us young fellas Vince you can see that?
It's also us young fella's that have been working beside you at the clean up Australia day events. There has been many many young 4wd enthusiasts (many on this forum) that have planted trees, cleaned rubbish and generally just promoted our great love of the beach, sun and surf that is Byfield National Park.
And to all you boys BIG PROPS! You deserve much praise and respect for your efforts to the community and not to be treated like "hooligans" or "criminals that should be reported"
Like I said boys, a huge pat on the back.
No fights, No problems and generally a great time had by ALL! And that is what makes the community that was up at five rocks on saturday night so darn impressive!

I CAN NOT SAY IT ENOUGH! You guys are legends and if I didn't know you guys before the party, I'd be honoured to call you mates after it!!!
