Exchange rate good - time to buy shocks?

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

With the exchange rate where it is - it might be time to invest in some Koni's or Bilstein's for the Cruiser I think.

Has some info on part numbers.

Does anyone else have any tech info on part numbers for lifted cruisers?

Thanx

As long as you could get the valving right and the lengths, it may make a worthwhile investment.... valving may be the issue however :?

Unless you know what valving you want, have corner weights of the car, and can order the valving you want, you may not get what you really need.

You cant compare US valving spec with here either.

The 1477 - 1488 he doesnt specify wether they are C or S spec units, but generally S works best here.

They are to short for more than 40mm lift though.

If wanting to spend good money, buy some Fox, or similar, so you can revalve them if required, and rebuiild them, with every part available as a spare part.

Hi Darren

I did consider Fox or Bilstein 7100
The issue is the Pin / Eye mount - very uncommon in Fox or 7100.

Any tips?

Would you regard 80 and 105 as the same for shocks?

remake the front mounts or im not sure whether it is cass or rowan but one of them does pin to pin front shocks to suit a GU, so not far off a 100s.

ive just ordered fox shocks through downsouth motorsport. thanks for the pointers darren, it made it easier to decide what i wanted. the yanks even valve there 80 series' with fox shocks completely different to the 2 guides i got from aus. retailers. i think the foxes or similar are the way to go. get a guide valving for when you buy them, then see how you like it and adjust them to what you consider perfection. fox shocks allow you to be picky.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Interested in what Fox shocks you bought (for your 80 I assume?).. interested to know what kinda coin I'd be looking at if I was to do something similar (pm if you want).

What model is it so I can have a google around.
