92 disco

Post by IN24BZ »

Hey there i just got out of a 94 1hz troop for reasons uncontrolable , anyhow i have baught what was advertised as a 1992 3.5litre v8 injecto auto disco.. seems in relaviely good order with oil seepsage not really leaks on some areas wich i have read s being common using the search feature.. , anyhow i have noticed it has a bit of a coolant leak to the right of the water pump in the valley is there any common place for this to leak as i have noticed the water pump is kind of seperate away from the block just wondering if coolant passes thru the valley somewhere for some reason or what.. im a mechanic by trade but it never hurts to get an oppinion or advice on a product you dont know , the leak is dark green indicating its not a tiny leak that dries white leaving a stain however its not pissing out and dripping and running its just kinda crusty and green. anyhow any ideas would help ,ps its tot he right of the pump near the dizzy and is there anything else i should look out for , the auto seems in great order as does the rest of the car

There is a water pipe up near the dizzy that could be causing it. Short and the size of a heater hose.
Things to look out for mmm They seem to love fouling up the rotor button so find a good supply shop. And with a bit of age the cam lobes lifters and timing chain may need doing.

This is just a Rover only forum.

I am not 100% sure if the 3.5 is the same as my 3.9 but on my 3.9 I had the small heater hose that runs along the front of the valley and into the inlet manifold (just behind the dissy).

If you have this hose, check for splits at the bend nearest to the valley and obviouly in the end of the hose around the clamp.
