Have had my 91 Paj in to sort this out but no success.
Belt squeels like hell till I put some lub on the ribs - all the pulleys look straight but it seems to be hard against the inside of one and towards the ouside of another. Squeeling stops once the engine heats up thoroughly (15mins driving).
Any suggestions?
I'm sure it started doing this months ago when I drove through a river.
Belts and pulleys been replaced at the mechanic's but he can't stop this squeeling.
Its driving me nuts for 2x15mins a day!

Hi, more than likely one of the pullies is knackered, you need to listen using a piece of hose, and remove where necessary. If the outside ones are good, you may need to look at the cam belt idlersmccpijs4 wrote:Have had my 91 Paj in to sort this out but no success.

The bolt that travels through the alternator needs to be removed push the slide at the back out some and slot a washer between the alternator and ally housing that the alternator bolts to.
Its a common fix that stops the belt squeek from the belt rubbing on the lip of the idler pully. was the first thing i did to mine when i got it 4 years ago.
