GQ steering box leak help...........

Post by Creedy976 »

gday guys. now before i start with the questions i tried the search
button and said i had no matches.

my problem is my steering box is leaking from the top where the steering rod goes in.

now so far ive read that its just a cheap seal in there thats stuffed. and aparently you just undo the rod and slide it up and change it without having to remove the box from the car.

is it that easy or do i need to look out for something else so i dont stuff it.
if anyone has done this please feel free to guide me as im a little nervous

cheers in advance creedy976

hey
my brother 's got an 88 mav that had the lower seal (where the splined shaft for the pitman arm pokes out) leaking he tried every bearing and seal shop up here in rocky and no-one wanted to sell him that seal only a full seal kit so he just replaced the box.
