Air Conditioning into a LN106 Hilux with 253

Post by Colli.450 »

Hi all,

I am looking at a hilux that has had a V8 transplant. It has had a 253 put into it and the current owner said that he didn't bother fitting the AC.

My question is what is the best path to fit AC to this truck, Holden gear or 5L gear?

Is this vehicle to much hassle, to buy and play with, what are your thoughts of the 253, from my experience, should help it a lot... I used to own a LN106 dual cab and have driven many 253 powered buses

Here it is

Thanks all, any input, no matter how small is appreciated

easy would be to use the standard 253 gear if you have the room and get the hoses adapted......BUT they are big and ugly and old.....
otherwise make a bracket to fit the hilux one which will prob work better anyway
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

doesn't really matter. Personally I'd run all the Hilux stuff except the pump, then just find a small compact pump that fits the space and make it bolt to the block. My Fathers Hilux has basically all LN65 air con gear, except the pump is from a Suzuki Baleno (The actual engine is a 15B toyota motor). You may need to get custom flexi line made up.
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
