G'day all,
My 1995 manual Discovery 300tdi has an idle issue of been too high and rough. If I leave the idle screw in the original spot it idles at 1000rpm and smooth. As soon as I try to adjust it lower, it runs rough and with the screw all the way off it only drops to 900rpm. It revs and drives fine. motor has done 120k. It has had the pump mods done but even when I first got the car (and fitted the motor) it wouldn't idle below 850rpm or any smoother.
I have the original engine that was in the vehicle (done 230k) as spares and I have checked/ adjusted the pump timing, valve rockers, swapped injecters over and still no difference.
Do these pumps have a " fast idle" for cold starts?
