Battery State of Charge info poll
Moderator: -Scott-
Hi chimpboy, there is a lot more to it and I was made aware of it when a number of members over there, PMed and E-mailed me with the full story.
It seems the main protagonists are also members of the CMCA site, a closed site, in which THE book writer is the unchallenged king of castle and they have just about destroyed any credibility that site had and are now doing the same to the to the Caravaners forum.
One new member to the CMCA site stated as a parting shot at these clowns that she had been greeted to the site with false smiles and them stabbed in the back by the same smiling people.
Nice way to greet new members.
Now you can see why they behave they way they do!

Holy sheet. What an entertaining bunch of people they are on the caravaners forum. It is quite amusing that they say you are pushing your business when you never even state what your business is. I gave up reading at page 4 after the budget barry dude gave up contributing about 4 times
No wonder so many people hate caravaners...

I feel sorry for the guys there who were trying to have a reasonable discussion but kept getting blowharded into submission by what were actually only two or three nutters who could not possibly have convinced anyone of anything with their posts.drivesafe wrote:stuee wrote:No wonder so many people hate caravaners...
I probably shouldn't bag another forum any more I guess, it just really looks like an otherwise good forum has a few highly vocal and highly partisan members. I guess they can always swing by here for good tech and gentle flaming
This is not legal advice.
As I posted, it’s a shame that a handful of individuals, with their own agendas, have that forum by the throat and will eventually strangle it.chimpboy wrote:I probably shouldn't bag another forum any more I guess, it just really looks like an otherwise good forum has a few highly vocal and highly partisan members. I had not posted on that forum before putting up info about the poll but I have noticed a lot of members there are members of other forums, most of them are pretty decent people but that’s not going to help the caravaners forum when the moderators don’t exactly help to control whats going on.
In fact they removed one moderator just recently and accused him of censorship. I know this guy and at one stage he started up his own forum a few years ago and it was shut down when he allowed it to operate without enough censorship and was finally threatened with legal action, by who I don’t know, but he had learnt and was trying to protect caravaners forum from degrading to the same level, so they removed him as a moderator.
I bet it would it not surprise anyone to know that many of the trouble makers on caravaners, were responsible for his forum being closed.
If you want to waste some time and need some strange reading to start your day have a read of this thread by THE book writer.
It’s titled “Loosening Terminal Nuts” and the first post is truly bazaar!

i agree, infact most of the time is see a mention of your business, it is by someone else entirely. only a handfull of time have i actually seen you self promote, and always it has been at a point where it is acceptable.chimpboy wrote:I've always thought that you do a very good job of NOT promoting your business at all here, and when it gets a mention it's pretty appropriate.
in the thread i linked to (i could only read the first 3 and last 2 pages....) it was quite clear that you was not trying to seek commercial gain from it (if anything, it was more likely to harm your commercial interests as you were quite blatantly saying that duel bat systems are not a cure all etc etc). the only assistance you would have gotten is the huge number of times that people linked to your site (whether people posted it positively or negatively, people would still have been following the link....)
some people just cant see the forest for the trees.
Drivesafe, for what its worth, i value your input on this forum greatly.

FWIW, given his level of participation in this forum I am bewildered by the way he doesn't push his products. As a general rule, regular contributors are welcome to promote their products when they are relevant to somebody's query. "Regular contributor" is not in question.
While I'm at it, for the record, I was offended by others questioning drivesafe's honesty and integrity. In my experience, both are beyond reproach.

Excellent work drivesafe. At last there'll be some real-world proof to disprove some of these fallacies that so many mistake for fact.
In regards to honesty and integrity, it's worth noting that a lot of these myths are actually created/perpetuated by manufacturers in order to boost sales, so full points to drivesafe for putting facts ahead of profit.
Of course, while people continuing spreading these myths they'll never stop, and too many people have a vested interest in keeping the buyers in the dark. On many occasions I've been disputed because "they sell them for a living, they must know something about them" and "well, if he wrote a book about it he must know what he's talking about". At times it can be hard to explain to people that having a paper published or owning a business doesn't necessarily mean that you have expertise in an area. Erronous publications stay in print while the professionals in the field are well aware of their errors, just as shonky businesses keep going while other traders stay clear of them. It's the bloke on the street that gets taken in by this crap and blows his money on something that may be far from what he's been led to believe.

Thanks for all the votes of confidence, I do truly appreciate the support I get here and on other HONEST and open forums.
The other one is probably one of the most dishonest forums I come across and the stupidity of it is that they are only harming their own GENUINE members.
Thylacine has hit the nail on the head and as I posted elsewhere, the problem is that this type of measuring is open to erroneous readings and to be completely honest, as posted, the poll was never intended to produce rock solid findings.
What it was intended to do was disperse this myth of not being able to charge a cranking battery on ANY vehicle above 70%, as pushed by the likes of Collyn Rivers and a number of wonder device sellers, all of whom have a financial vested interest in having people thinking they can’t fully charge their cranking battery.
And it then follows that they will also think they can’t fully charge their auxiliary/house batteries.
This is actually the reason behind the poll, to try and educate people so that they don’t get caught by these snake oil pedlars.
What is happening here and on a number of other forums, including some I have never been on, the poll is having it’s desired effect.
Cheers and again thanks for the thumbs up.
