It has finally come to that time when new tires are needed, the old ones just dont cut it any more ( make a good set of party tires!!)
The current tires are 31"x10.5" on 15"x7" rims.
I want to put the biggest tires on the old girl with the least modifications (i.e. firewall/cut away guards).
What would be the biggest tires that I could put on at the moment (I have no suspension lift or body lift-sorry to disappoint you guys!)?
I am currently looking at a 70+mm overall lift kit from marks. Rancho 9000 shocks new coil springs with 2" body lift. Marks say that after installing this kit you can easily fit 35" rubber. Roughly $1600

I am also able to get a new Series 2000 suspension kit (4 coil springs and 4 shocks) for $700-which is designed to give it a 2" lift from stock.
I would really, i mean really like to fit 35" rubber but I would be happy with 33"X12.5"s.
What is the series 2000 suspension like and would it allow me to fit 33/35's?
Would my stock 22r (2.4 naturally aspirated (carby job) Petrol) have enough grunt to turn these beasts (it doesn't have to do a quick 1/4 mile by any means) ?
Any help would be most appreciated,

ssssssssssoooo to answer your questions, i would get the 35's from what you write you want the 35's so even if you do get the 33's you are still going to want the 35's.
you could always send alittle extra and re gear the diffs to turn the tyres.
Have you looked at 80seroes coils, i believe these give a 4 inch lift under a bundy. BJ will know for sure.

I have heard of putting 80 series coild under a bundera but have never looked into it. So if it is possibe to put these coils under it what sort of shouck would I put under it-Rancho's? Are they standartd/stock 80 series coils and do they fit with no modifications?
Another quick question I have just been speaking to my father and he wants to give his 100 series a 2" lift. Is it possible to do this mod without any mods to the steering and engine and prop shafts.

shockies, i would get the 9012, they are around the 175 mark and providing the 80 series coils fit ( which i believe they will) i would go this way.
you said you were going to spend approximatley 1700 on the marks kit, if you can get the coils and shocks for around 1100 and then the body lift for about 100 (check the 4sale section) then that will leave you approx 500 of your first budget for gears, 5.29's can be had for about 100 an end.

According to Bundytime the 80 series coils break shocks as the spring dimensions are different, I'm sure he can elaborate further....

Will it only rub the inner guards on full flex...(hang on, what flex!!!) ?
Will my "Big block 22r" have enough grunt to turn them (mine is not on gas) (doesn't have to do a quick 1/4 mile)?

I will add, you will need 4.88 ratio diffs to move 35's with a 22R.

Old man just had a 2" lift fitted to his brand new ifs 100, all they did was longer coils in the back and bigger shocks and for the front new shocks and wound up the bars etc.

How hard is it installing new ratios?
I do have pretty good mechanical knowledge ie have chanded clutches and fixxed carbies and stuff but have never done anything to the diffs.

You don't *have* to change your ratios straight away. If you don't mind being a bit slower, just leave it until later. At least you'll save money on petrol. It's a 4B - not a race car. IMHO, the increase in clearance is worth the speed sacrifice.

Yes he runs 4.88s
New ratios can mean a simple carrier swap or rebuild with R&P.

i stepped straight into 35s with my first landcruiser, 4 cylinder diesel, and 4.111 diff ratios
oh yeah, i had to put a turbo on, to keep with the RICE BIARTCH but my cousin had a 2.2L diesel hilux that we used to flog the crap out of, and DAMN it went pretty good even with stock gears and 35s

All right, firstly I would like to thank you all for the info you gave me but I have decided that I will fit 33's (maybe 35's next time and atleast these are bigger than the 31's currently on it) to save me money and stuffing around (lift, diffs,ect.) I will buy 33's and get the 35's put on my fathers 100 series ( I'll just borrow his car!!)
