can anyone tell me what the go is with having to carry a spare tyre on your truck for willowglen? seems kind of silly considering looking at some of the pics some cars appeared not to be carrying a spare and others where carrying a tyre they obviously couldn't use ? i thought it was mandatory but if its not i'd be good to know for next year .

good weekend tony but maybe you should book good weather now for next year

cheers Jai

We have allowed competitors to leave the spare at the stage they are competing on, It has to be presented at verification and meet the class rule sizes. It must be able to fit the vehicle when/if needed.

Thanks Tony

A big congrats to the TLCC for a great weekend. New tracks were great, apart from "apparently" me trying to run over my navi early on the big tyres :D Run faster i say :finger:
No breakages either all weekend  , although few tyres off beads and cut sidewall on 1 swamper. Beadlocks are the go for next year :D

And an awesome but very unexpected result for the TLCC taking out the overall team trophy  I spoke to Phil my navi walking over to the presentation and mentioned i'd be happy with a top 10 club finish  Never thought we'd win it, but still its a great result for myself, Steve Brennon (who also took out the standard class and overall best driver), Shaun, and Richard. Well done boys :D

It shows how close the overall scores were, as we were only 20 points in front of the Southern Tablelands! 2 more attempts, thats all.
Anyway was great to catch up with all the competitors, had the usual shat chat before the stages.

Thanks again to all involved,

Cheers Pricey.
Everyone loves a 40!

Willowglen a top weekend and as per usual TLCC put on the weather. Top job Mary, Tony and co. for some great tracks. We were lucky enough to go breakage free in the chopped 105 cruiser (OK slightly dented rim and a dent from a tree) but team came in 3rd overall in our 2nd comp ever and we could all still drive back home. We will be back in 2010 if we make the cut.

Hey guys scores are up.
Just wondering why TLCC contacted some teams about their scores and not others. Im missing 10 points from 1 of my runs, this 10 points would have lifted my club from 8th to 7th place. Dont know what happened but will be writing an email to TLCC tonight.

I only checked the top 4 teams and placegetters to be sure that the presentation ended up correct. We have painful memories from the past.
They all confirmed as being crrect so we then put the scores on our website. As you will know we were being pushed to get them up asap.
I will gladly check out and confirm your scores if you contact me on
challenge@tlcc.com.au.
I congratulate you and your club on your placing if either 7th or 8th.
Hope to see you back in 2010.

Thanks Tony and the team

Congrats to ALL the competitors - the winners, the runners up and the also rans. There can be no competition without each and every one of you. Made for some excellent views for the spectators - you've all got guts and deserve the glory.

yeah that was a good one, for those who werent there, thunder was lining up for the start of the track, some1 else was nailing it through the last section of the track(big tyres), got turned by the big tyres and went straight into the side of thunders tray,
i think thats what happened, i was at the other end of the track, but hes very lucky, it couldve been bad if hed hit cab instead of tray
please feel free to correct me if im wrong

A little bird told me that Steve was on the wrong side of the bunting and forward of the "queue here" sign. I do realise that this may be incorrect but I would like to know exactly what happened simply to prevent the same from re-occuring.

What I do know is that we had left a clear space for a competitor to finish the tyre Stage without another vehicle being in the way.

Steve was very lucky that it was only the tray that got hit. We are all thankful that no-one was injured.

Thanks Tony

Sad case that, no DVD with the new tracks and all. The 4WD Action guys means it will be in the mag some time next year Aug 2010

Thanks Steve for your reply. I guess the main thing for us all is to prevent it happening again.

Sorry, There was no official DVD of willowglen this year.

Rick O'brien ex BBM, now the editor of the new Extreme monthly mag will let me know as soon as the article is ready for print. I am eagerly waiting to see the new style mag and the coverage of this years Willowglen.

I would like to thank all of the competitors fron this years Willowglen for the sportsmanship shown to each other and to all the spectatoers that braved the shocking weather to cheer on the teams. Thanks again. You have all contributed to what has been described as the best Willowglen yet.

I'll see you all at Toperi.

How Good Was It !!!

Post by Grizzly Bear »

As per everyone else - Thanks heaps to the TLCC for putting it together again. Tony P - you are a bloody legend mate. How about an Autumn comp in conjunction with another Club helping ??? Just a thought. It is such a great spot...
Thanks Junior for letting me beat you this year. I tried hard not to with a zero on the logs...
Congrats to big Steve on JUST beating me . . (I only wanted to beat Junior this year - Steve, you're next, then Shane. K... then Podium...zzzzzzzzz)
A big sorry for not being able to wear the Borat suit this year - too darn cold and didnt want to do any further insult to an already damaged reputation!!!
Can't do Nissan trials cos I am too modified (what a joke) so I will tuck her away til the Shell harbour lads come up to the Wattos for a play. Menai clean up day at the end of the month???
Love you all
Cam

PS Just had the AGM and I have not renewed as AWDC Pres for a 5th year... Joy and Sadness. bye all
Why is it that everything I love costs so much money !!!!
