Choice of Mufflers
I am in the process of rebuilding my 4wd. I am running an LS3 that i've stroked out to 7ltrs, with a dual 3'' exhaust. Any recommendations for mufflers to give a nice but aggressive note? thanks for the feedback
my recommendation is the biggest fattest (quietest) muffler you can get.
Loud exhausts contribute to fatigue, draw unwanted attention from people in uniforms, and generally just deafen you from hearing things over the radio/from your spotter/from your passenger =)
just my 2c.

Seriously, what on earth does "Hi Flow" mean? It's not a measurement - it's just marketing nonsense.
If you already have a twin 3" system your biggest problem is going to be fitting enough muffler under the car to keep it quiet.
No atmo 3.5litre motor running even 250HP ever needed a single 3" exhaust - your 500hp 7 litre doesn't need twin 3". That pipe diameter is going to equal a LOT of noise.
Take it to a decent exhaust shop and get their opinion. Fitment is gong to be the issue, not the style or brand of muffler.
PS I've built some really loud cars and they suck. Quiet is the new loud.

I wasn't claiming that a single 3" was enough flow for that motor in total, only that a single 3" system might be "plenty" for 1/2 of a 7.0 LS motor nad is going to be hard to keep quiet when you are dealing with the ground clearance issues under a 4WD.

While we're on the choice of mufflers what's the go with those mufflers with the electronic valve in them that make them go from quiet to loud with a press of a button? Reckon they'd fall apart or the valve system bugger up on the corrugations?
More Suzuki parts going to the big Suzuki Heaven in the sky!
thanks for the feedback guys. i was lucky enough to put a 3'' body lift onto the car so we'll run the exhaust between the chassis and the body to help protect it. i know there is nothing worse than when all you can hear is a loud exhaust at the end of the weekend when you are heading home tired ... that being said when i put my foot down it would be good to hear it roar. will look into all suggestions. cheers.
