i have rebult my triton petrol motor and when i put it back together i over tighten the balance timing chain. now the sliper bearing and were the shaft runs on the bearing has been floged out.
(pic's soon)
my question:
1) is it a balance shaft or a oil splash shaft on the back of the oil pump.
2) can i cut the end of the shaft off and run the oil pump without the shaft end
cheers darryl

4G54 balance shaft removal question
GQ, 6.5L, 6" lift, 2" body, 37" muddys, now that is fun
u can buy a kit on the bay to remove the ballance shaft completely, its a shorter chain and a few other bits a pieces. you will more than likley get a bit of engine vibration once removed, but its been done plenty of time. check out www.sigmagalant.com for more info, plenty of people have dont it there.
