Ummm heaps of things you can do,
1. MP3 sound output for the stereo, can be run of an external num pad
2. Get a data cable and use your phone to dial up to the net with it
3. Video clips etc if your lappy is powerful enough
4. Load an mp3 encoding program so you can rip tracks off your mates cds when you are out and about
Good fun, and you can ususally power it off 12V pretty easily so no need for an inverter to charge it

I use mine for GPS/OziExplorer mapping, MP3s straight into speakers (although I have an MP3 stereo, mainly just for larger selection/storage), Videos when camping, Dash mounted web cam to record timelapse movies of trips, digital camera uploading for longer trips and emails/net surfing via mobile, for quick updates to friends (Rarely now due to CDMA phone).
Yea...That's drivable.....You go first
This is how the guys from www.exploroz.com mounted theirs for navigation in their cruiser.
I thought it looked pretty neat except that the driver cant see the screen.
Paul.

Yeah I've got a laptop with only Oziexplorer/Trax and the Magellan software plus a shitload of Vicmaps. Great navvy tool...............
I made up some right angle aluminium plate and clamp it to the jesus bar above the glovebox in the Poojabber. The laptop is held down by velcro strips so far has worked extremely well.

Went out with a few Exploroz dudes to Pyrenees, and one had mobile maps GPS and shit in his Rodeo Ute, we were travelling at about 5kph so he could read the screen. Or Travel few 100mtrs and stop.

winamp and you can buy a separate num pad made by belkin I think for about $40 (jaycar also sell them) run off usb or serial. Winamp has the num pad functionality built in
