hey havent been able to find the exact info on this.. have heard mark spot on wall same height as headlights then drive back 5 metres and light should be 100mm below line, 6metres 50mm below line..etc etc
am after the correct measurements.
have total 6"lift plus 35" tyres and just put HID's in wanna get it right so i dont draw to much attention or blind people coming other way.
have seen a chart before but cant find anythin now.
I had a similar problem when mine got out the other day. found this on the exploreroz forums...
(a.)With the vehicle parked straight on level ground facing a wall and about three meters back i.e. the rear of your garage, measure from the ground to the centre of the driving light. Place a horizontal line on the wall at the same height, I use black electrical tape.
(b.) Measure the distance between the two driving lights centers and place lines on the wall at the same spacing.
(c.) turn on the driving lights and focus them onto the centre of the crosses on the wall.
nice and easy. not 100% perfect, but better than others. just need to cover one of the lights so you can see where you're aiming the other.
My friendly panel beater lets me use his alignment jig. It's a real one which each headlight gets shone into. Not the usual stick with a board and some lines on it.
I've always used the 10 metres - 1 metre rule..
Park car 10 metres from a wall and adjust headlights until top of beam is 1 metre from ground.
Works great, doesn't blind anybody and is easy as to remember.
I was under the impression that lights had to be angled slightly downwards (so as not to blind oncoming traffic when you load the back or climb a hill) and have always set mine this way.
