Anybody got a part number or link to shocks for a coilsprung LWB pajero with 3" of lift? I need a shock 4" longer than stock preferably gas charged. My stock shocks are crap and limiting my travel.
With shocks
AFAIK, the biggest problem is the shock binding on the control arm - my rear shocks have nice dents in the lower tube. Do you have a solution for this?
I use Rancho shocks designed for a 3" Paj lift. I'm not sure of the part number but thay give me awesome flex without fowling on the contol arms (so far anyway) They are almost too long as the patrol springs want to fall out, however i have had no issues with them.
You will if you run with one of the bolts removed as shown in the picture - the shocks will hit the arms something wicked as Scott said, mine have good dents in them also.
These are how mine look (well - looked, before I changed them as they are expensive and nasty) and they are standard length Rancho's. STD shocks do not hit with a std suspension setup as they are a smaller bore.
There looks to be heaps of room at the top of the mount to bring it up 10cm or more .. would it be as simple as relocating the top mount and bringing the bottom mount up a few cm's would not need to be allot so long as the shock rotated at the same rate as the diff (sideways) at the moment the a larger arc in play
