Towing Capacity of an RJ70

Post by EFI Bundera »

Gday all.

I was wondering if anyone knows the towing capacity for an RJ70 Bundera.

The vehicle is fitted with a fairly heavy duty looking tow pack. It has a square removeable tongue, but the chassis mount has a plate that looks like it is meant to have a bit bolted to the front of it to go under the fuel tank.... I did have it suggested that maybe it is a multi fit tow bar, and that bit may not be used on my vehicle....

There is no brand or compliance plate on the tow bar anywhere....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Look at that.... it does fit!

is there a bar going from one chassis rail to the other that goes under the tank?

not too sure about the cars ratings. but the towbar is rated around 2250-2500kg.

The tow bar has a 2" or so square tube running from one side to the other, bolted to the rails with a brace also beading forward on the rails.

At the front of the square section where the removable tongue goes in there is a flat plate with some threaded holes in it.... It looks like on some models there is anothe part to the tow bar that goes under the fuel tank, but mine does not have this....

Toyota said the max towing weight for my vehicle is 1500kg....

Not sure how it is going to go towing my new Malibu Wakesetter LXi....

Might have to sell the current set up  and buy an new Parado or something.... (Damn I love my Bundera!!)
