I wish my IFS had an 8" diff.
Oh, hang on...

Ahh yes but does yours have nice long drive shafts that reduce the CV angles so that the CV's dont go "pop"
Personally, I've never had a CV go "pop". Just turned over 160k km, still have the same CVs that were in there when I bought it at 63k km.

Obviously, I don't break CVs because I'm not hard-core enough.

I'll have to put a Toyota front end in so I can break CVs - then I'll be hard-core.

It's a Pajero, it will never be hardcore, probably doesn't have a V8 in it either, so don't have the grunt to pull the skin off a rotten spud, let alone to break anything :finger:

Ahh young Struth......you obviously havn't been out with too many Pajs!!

The mighty Paj is a very very good piece of kit and way better engineered in almost every aspect compared to a toyota, even down to the wheel brearing adjuster nut retainers.

I used to have an SRV (surf recovery vehicle) that followed me everywhere I went to pull me out or drag me home whenever i needed it. It was a Paj!! And yes it very rarely broke anything.

The Bitsamissins don't reign supreme at Dakar year after year for no reason.
Bloody IFS bugger who slows down the SAS boys.

Mate I haven't read the posts but:

Go IFS, solid sucks for all buy hardcore 4x4ing

I can help you get ifs pretty strong pretty cheap.
Use a pajero nm rear diff centre 9.5" (I have one here in vgc ready to go that I was going to use before going 2wd)
ford 150 unit bearing hubs - $90ea, discs $30ea, custom uprights from uweld at 300 a pair, custom axles and chev cv's.

I was going to run this gear on mine. It is pretty strong - 33 spline (bigger than GU etc). You can get awesome cv's in 35 spline guarenteed for a whole season of corr for $695 ea.

call me on 0402337734 if you need help

cheers bru
