hi guys, im getting ready to build my stainless snorkle for my gu ute, just a couple of questions....
how thick should i go? i was thinking of 3.5 inch as i have a fair bit of it laying around.
should the mouth/end bit face forward or backwards? i was thinking of backwards and tilt it off abit on a 45degree angle. i really like the look of this, but are there any advantages/ disadvantages to doing this? and do i need to make drain holes before the air box for water to escape?
any help or pics would be greatly appreciated. thank you

99 gu coil cab st, 3 inch zorst, twin subaru turbos on split manifolds 13psi, GTIR intercooler, 4 inch stainless steel snorkel. xgts,35's and 5inch lift and a winch.
you can basically have any size you want so 3.5 would be fine, also it doesnt matter if forwards or backwards sum people might say forwards cause it rams cold air into it, which is not the case its only gonna suck in as much air as it can so forcing it is not the go. and any angle you want and you shouldnt need to drill holes it should already have a drain hole just b4 the box have a look if not u might as well drill a few, just dont make em too big
keep it thin, no matter how thin you go it will always be heavier than a plastic one, i like the look of 4 inch pipe myself, i ran 3 on my zook and 4 on my gq, but thats your choice, id just go rubber bends with a 45 at the top facing backwards.

I just finished mine made of alloy tube 3" 1.5mtrs tube 1 90deg, 1 45deg
cost me $80 finished.
But I am making a external air box out of 8" alloy tube for a 5" x 6" k&n pod filter!
I have a GQ TB42E and when i finished the AIR FLOW METRE has been moved to suit turbo installation!

you don't wanna drill holes anywhere except in the air box, which then needs a one-way valve inserted to keep water out when fording rivers.it should already have a drain hole just b4 the box have a look if not u might as well drill a few,

GQ with 30 PSI of TD42T.........
i dont know if that's your truck but, even though it looks HORN, its not to good for visibility along the side of the bonnet and across the pillar. It takes TO much visibility away.Meangu wrote:Another Idea
the snorkle should be run so it does not hinder vision from the drivers seat.
