all you need is basic hand tools.
10mm spanner for the brake line.
pliers for the split pin for the handbrake cable.
14mm spanner for the axle nuts.
14mm for the tailsahft nuts and bolts.
12mm spanner for the diff centre nuts.
23mm socket for the diff drain plug.
Depends on what you have broken?
pieces of metal shavings might come out from the drain plug.
You need gasket glue, razor blade and thinners or acetone.
The diff centre is about 20kg if that.
Cheers

cheers man. see thats the thing, i dnt think ive broken anything, i just droped the oil, and it was very mucky, but no fillings or anything came out. it looked muddy and shit, so i think maybe theres shit in the gears? im honestly not sure, but i can get it out and get it cleaned??? thanks heaps for this
If theres gunk in the oil maybe check your diff breather and get a diff breather kit for it or make your own.
All you need is 2 hose clamps, zip ties and some rubber hose.
Only way you can tell is to pull it out and have a look.
Is it a LSD?
cheers

could be gunk inbetween your lsd shims or clutch plate?
could also be your axle seals thats letting water and mud get in.
Well if the oil has only a week old then there is something wrong.
pretty sure if the LSD gives up the ghost that it doesnt make noises just acts as an open centre.
Pull the centre out, clean out the housing and inspect the diff centre for any play and give that a clean out.
cheers

AFAIK - the whine is normally worn gears or bearings.
before you put it back in replace your axel seals they cost a few bucks and will help stop gunk getting into your diff again.
if it was full of crud then you changed the oil, some of the old crud will still be there and ruin the next oil.

you could always try a fresh batch of oil and hope, as at least this time it should be quite clean.chriso88 wrote:the whine is slowly going away tho, so thats what i dunno. ill pull it out anyway, and do the seals while im there.

how old is your LSD?
and does it still work?
no point wasting money on a LSD treatment when it doesnt work.
Toyota LSDs only last 10000km if that.
Since you keep putting oil in and taking it out, go that step further and pull the centre out.
Will only cost you diff oil and some brake fluid.
Cheers
