i have gu 3lt diffs in my gq and that patrol is a mock up i say, the rear diff is too tiny to be an actual real one,

its on a gq chassis and theyve imported a swb gu body from the champs in dubai, and another thing the track is too narrow, looks like the gu i swapped the diffs with,
anyone remember the buildup on the blue one someone done and comped it

I don't think so. I'm 99.9% sure its a fully imported job from NZ. No dodgy stuff - just expensive.

Didn't the Christie Bro's build the GU cut down wagon onto the GQ chassis.

I think it is quite a nice car. Looks great, and is here and registered.

I thought the 2.8L was the go though as they can be easily swapped for the 4.2L.

Other than that I don't think the shorties had a 4.2TD :(

agreed rob, there is shorty patrols absolutely everywhere. They have certainly proven themselves in previous models right back to g60 but itd be hard to fork out that sort of money on a 2 door car i say when you can go pick up a shorty gq for 2-5k.

Certainly hot tho
sierra truggy,37 sticky treps,propane,6.5s and disconnect,lux diffs with spools,16" fox shox,hydro steer.

The Japanese market for some reason didn't have the GU shorty available with the TD42T apparently. We get a few 2.8's and the odd 3.0 here as imports, but I'm yet to see a 4.2 which were more common in the UAE.

that's why they didn't bring them in because they didn't sell anywhere near enough SWB to make it worthwhile. Th eprice difference between a SWB and a LWB was too close and they sold bucket loads more of the LWB

Kiwi, Have a look at the at 1997 SWB, GU on trademe. Its on page 2 of the nissan safari posts. 4.2 turbo diesel auto.

Is it original or a swapped GQ motor, reading the ad it sounds original but 29K is big bucks mate
