help - the car is dead

as the the title says .. my car (93 lwb vitara) is currently dead,
just drove home to grab some gear and now it wont start
no clicking from the starter motor what so ever
but the dash lights go dim when i try to start it
I have checked the fuses in the drivers foot well and there all good
same with the big fuses in the engine bay

I have also checked the voltage on the battery and its at 12.5
is there any hidden fuses i am missing etc?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe your solenoid on the starter is stuck.
Tap the solenoid (TAP not too hard and use the wooden handle part if you can) with hammer. Might be a sticky solenoid.

i had the same problem on my 92 lwb vitara i ended up running another wire through a different switch form the battery to the starter and worked a charm, never bothered to fix it after that, i will be keen to see what the actual problem with yours is. aybe mine will be the same ha ha

If you have a battery tester, test youre battery. If you dont have one, measure the battery voltage at the battery while someone else turns the key. If it goes below 10ish volts, then its most likely youre battery is dud. Just because it reads 12volt doesnt mean it can flow more than a couple of amps.

I know on sierras the starter solinoid was wired directly through the ignition wireing.. dumb idea on Suzukis part this can degrade over time ..

Use a relay to the starter and see how you go..

have you tried moving the battery terminal? my zook randomly did something similar on the weekend and it just turned out to be a bad connection at the battery.
