A while back I purshased a new transfer case from the daihatsu dealer in sunny coast. Got it fitted by mechanics and stuff but turns out they gave me a transfer for a newer rocky, with auto locking hubs. My rocky is 1989 model, 2.8l deisel.
Wondering if there is some (inexpensive) way to just modify something so I can actually use 4x4. If you cant tell already, i dont no much about mechanics.
But please help! i havent been 4x4ing for months!

Yeah, mine has the transfer lever. That's whats got me stumped.
Just recently went to the beach and found out 4x4 does work when i lock the hubs in, but I think it is turning my tranfer, front drive shaft and diff constantly as i have no way to disengage 4x4 because of the crapppy electronic thing that the PUSH BUTTON/VACUM type has.
Such a pain in the ass problem ay!
thanks heaps for replying too, i was totally expecting people to avoid this question haha

Well, in fact he is correct. The later push button cases also had a lever. You pushed the button to engauge 4H, then pulled the lever to engauge N or 4L.
Its a shame. In Gladstone, I have a complete rolling SWB chassis. 2.8 motor, gearbox, transfer case, front and rear axles, that I want to get rid of cheap, probably much much cheaper than what you paid for just your box, and its a lever case too.
