Info needed on Ideler and pitman arm

Post by smellypaddler »

Hi Guys,

A while ago I got the details from someone on here of a person who was able to supply both arms for a reasonable price. I never followed it up and have lost the details but am in desperate need of new arms plus bushes. Does anyone know where I can ge them from?

Was supplier up north - search the hatsu forum and ye might find.......

Toyota still supply if necessary.

P.S. the passenger side will wear out very quickly even fom new
Pedders sell bushes if that's all that's stuffed
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

i found that an older model pajero idler arm fitted, they are slightly shorter, so you may have to grind 2mm from the chassis, but i got a new one off a spare parts feroza i bought.

yeah nothane make bushes for the pajero one also.

Where does the metal come off the chassis ?

A shorter idler arm will upset the steering geometry which could make for some excitiement - how much shorter is it ?

shave where the chassis comes up and mounts the body blocks to. i found that the nut on full flex would just tap that part

um i think it was about 6-9mm shorter

i think it was off a long wheelbase, 88-94 (i think) cant fully remember

i think it was off a long wheelbase, 88-94 (i think) cant fully remember, you need to space (with large washers from bunnings) the pajero one down about 5mm from the top of where the feroza one sits, otherwise more grinding will need to be done.

Thanks MM. Which forum did you mean to look on as I have searched on here and found nothing but am certain the info came from here originally. I have ordered the idler bushes from Peddars to see if it makes a difference but they couldn't supply pittman bushes at all.
