WARFS

Post by Tasrocky »

I noticed it mentioned in another topic and it got me wondering who here is/has subscribed to the WARFS list and are you still recieving the mail from it. I was there but got sick of the simplest issues draging on for ever ( eg. towing a feroza behind a campervan.).

I'm a member and still receive the updates. It's a PITA to use that forum though- a bulletin board like this is so much easier, particularly if you're searching for something through the old posts.

That's what i thought, it's also why I stopped getting it soon after i found outerlimits. the digest issues just got WAY too big ( getting whole other digest issues in a reply) to be bothered wading though the shite to find the useful stuff.

Kevin Stoelb, the owner moderator of the WARFS list was telling me that he really didn't want to take care of the list anymore. I don't know if I am supposed to say this but he had an accident early last year and totalled his extreemly nice US Rocky. He has since bought a 2.7 Taco and doesn't plan on getting another Rocky anytime soon.

I un-subscribed to the mailing list last year (even though I am one of the originators of the WARFS group with Kevin) due to the same complaints listed here. It's because of dumb ass people that don't know how to edit a message when replying. Kevin has asked people numerous times to edit their replys to cut down on message length.

I don't even stop in here much anymore maybe once every two weeks. I can't go wheeling you in OZ and can't find the information that I am looking for. So I have been spending most of my time on Pirate.

Are there many (any?) other Rocky/ Feroza owners on Pirate, Kent? I take it they haven't got a Daihatsu section!

David,

No there aren't any Daihatsu sections and have only seen Besty post a few times.

The info that I am looking for is moving my axle forward, hybrid leaf packs, shackle reversal, spring perch/ cross member, chromo axles, super birfs, rear disc brakes, what are the best R&P gears, ARB instalation, onboard air with a York, dual transfer cases, deals on 35 and 37's, transmission rebuilds, home made rear bumpers with tyre carrier and HiLift mount, diff guards, high steer....It's in the Toyota section.

I think that I have finally scored a Marlin dual case with 2.8's in both :evilbat: .

You must admit that there isn't much discussion here on these topics. Really wish that I could do the Watagans with you all.

Well I understood most of that  but know what you mean about the info not being on here.

Keep posting the updates on your progress on here, even if nobody else is doing similar mods. I'm always interested to see what other people are doing to their Feroza/Rocky, and I'm sure others on here are too. :D
