you need the fuel to make the boost......
how do you mean minimal fuel increase, did you do it yourself?
I could have more power and quicker boost if i turned the fuel up at my current boost setting.
I have wound the fuel back to keep the EGT's down coz i like to thrash and get carried away.. b4 i wound the fuel back i would get carried away and b4 i knew it i was near 700deg... dont wanna do that too often haha

???? 2 Psi at idle ????
What A/R exhaust housing are you using?
Where are you measuring boost pressure and what with?
What do you refer to as "idle"? I dont understand how this is possible........that is awesome if you are getting 2 Psi out of a GT2876 at idle on a 1HZ!!!
All the info on my truck has been gone through numerous times...
Its a GT2876R with .64 rear A/R
Boost measured with a basic analogue gauge from just b4 intake manifold.
I have bumped the idle to 850rpm because of low idle vibrations i got from the new more solid engine mounts i had to make.
Its not rocket science people... u just need to do the calculations and spend the $$

I still find it impossible to believe that your combo produces 2 Psi at 850rpm unloaded (would love to be shown otherwise! )
Any one else get boost at idle that doesnt have a variable nozzle turbine?
TheBigBoy wrote:What boost does a 1hdt run standard?
11.5 to 13psi is normal factory spec
Ive been told by alot of people that 14psi is the limit for a stock 1hdt. So that means you should just leave the boost alone?
the accepted 'safe' boost limit that the ct26 is capable of is about 15psi
I ran mine at 18psi for a long time then upped it to a peak of 20-22psi (no wastgate), ran it like this for nearly 6months before it shat itself.
I will limit my replacement to around 15-16psi. 1hd-t can handle far more than 14psi, it is the turbo that cant.
Z()LTAN wrote:one weekend ill hook up my in/hg gauge and make a video showing boost at idle.
U only have to listen to the thing running to know its already spooled at idle..
That would be impressive, would like to see that.
Even 1.4 meters of water head in a small clear hose would be proof
enough and easy to do
But if you have got a mercury gauge that will do 4 inches that would do
cant wait to see the results this will open up a lot of questions and mess with my head for a while.
Im finding it nearly impossible to beleive you are boosting
a) without load on the motor (it needs load, unless compound boost)
b) with no fuel mods. WTF... If it was running standard fuel setup the MOST it would get is around 14psi at redline in 2nd gear.
Ive had some of mine boosting FROM idle (i.e. as soon as you are in gear its charging, but to be on boost, stationary and with no load on the motor, its kind of difficult to believe, particularly on a 1HZ, without VNT.

Ahhh, thanks for that. Whats the best turbo replacement?

I have turned the fuel up almost 1.5 turns already...
Im not going to go into the nitty gritty of my setup because i dont want to give away all my secrets.
As i said b4 ill show it in a video boosting at my idle of 850-900 rpm

ive been in zoltans truck, what he says is true, trust me, its farkin hauls ass with 37's on, it's mental.

1.5 turns, thats far from a minimal fuel mod. but makes more sense, about how and why it can boost
