Someone in the AULRO thread has questioned whether the lower reduction gears are 49% or 40%. Does anyone have the tooth counts?

I've always understood that the lower gears were 49% reduction over standard which roughly equates to a 5:1 reduction. Its pretty farkin low. The 30% works out to roughly 4.3:1 reduction over standard.

Not sure, Jeff.

I left it up to Warren to contact everyone as that is what he said he was going to do.

I'll give him a call tomorrow and post up. Maybe give him a call yourself, too?

Your gearing is going to be so farkin insanely low, Jeff. 3000rpm going about 4kph.

JBell your gears arrived at MR yesterday. I was in there when Dwayne was opening up the box and the letter that was with them. ;)

If anybody is interested i asked MR if they had any intentions in making single piece cross shafts for the centre diff. Dwayne is going to speak to Warren about it and see what they can do.
In my opinion it is allways worth the extra $100 or so to fit one to a LT230 in any instance. Let alone when rebuilding one or fitting reduction gears.
Currently Jac Macs is the only place i know of who do them. They are not very good to deal with though.
If i am told right Maxi Drive did do them in the past.

Cheers Nottie

Thanks Jamie!!! I was about to order a cross shaft from Jacmac.

For the WA guys - If you aren't in a hurry, I will be shipping a whole t-case back, so a couple of sets of gears on top shouldn't add much to the cost.

Should be confirming MRs cross shaft availability today. If it is not in the near future we will just have to go with Jacmac.

g'day fellas

I'm in the process of setting my disco up for comp , This morning I spoke to Warren and he assures me that I could still get the reduction gears at the price of the group buy , so when funds allow I will be joinging the reduction gears band wagon & placing my order in 30% reduction gears,
I'm going to pull my LT230 transfer case off to be shipped off to QLD for MR to put the gears in and rebuild the box if need be with new bearings.
