Axle relocation
Hey guys, I'm moving the axle forward on my ln106 HiLux 30mm and just need a bit of advise on setting up the adjustable drag link and torque rod. Firstly from what I have gathered to remove the drag link you remove the split pins and using a large flat head screwdriver loosen off the ends and simply pop it off? Is it that easy or will I need balljoint splitters etc. Also how do you set it up once installed? Do you just tighten it up as much as possible or does there need to be some play in the joints? Do I have to keep the wheels straight or will it sort itself out? Also how do you know how to set up the adjustable torque rod? Do you just take out the old one and put the new one in wherever it lines up? I have a new 2" lift fitted if that makes a difference at all. I'm using a Superior Drag Link, Tough Dog torque rod and a snake racing driveshaft spacer. Sorry for the amount of questions, I just want to be prepared for when I do the job.
Re: Axle relocation
Ive got the same steering set up and diff forward 30 mm in my Lux except with 3 inch leaves and extended shackles.
With the drag link, I did it exactly what you said. but go as tight as you can, Did this with mine and it still has freeplay.
And I just set the torque rod at the right length when the ute sat level.
Also the driveshaft spacer may be too short. I know I had to extend my front shaft by about 100mm with 4-5 inch lift and diff forward 30mm.
Goodluck, feel free to ask anymore questions
P.S. Make sure you got the right size drill bit for the locating hole. 13mm i think

Thanks guys, that helps heaps. I dont know if I should drill the perches or just buy the relocating plates for $90 from BBM. Drilling through the perches sounds like a pain in the ass, but then again $90 for two pieces of metal isnt any nicer. So would you recomend I get a 40mm driveshaft spacer then rather than the 25mm? I can swap it over pretty easily.
Thanks once again.
