Which clutch kit did you use?

There are two types of flywheels - one flat and one stepped, and so there are two types of clutch kit. If you used a pressure plate for a flat flywheel on a stepped flywheel that would explain the slipping.

Sounds like you have the right clutch for your flywheel, but 5mm step sounds a bit much. The exedy website lists a 2.1mm step.

Hmmm... well did you let the cable off till its totally slack?

Did you clean the rust preventative oil off the pressure plate before you put it on?

well i played around with the cable a bit today and it wasnt the problem so i pulled the gearbox out and after stuffing @ for 2 hours found out that i had been supplied the wong pressure plate in my cluth kit from exedy!!!!!!!! So i put my old pressure plate on with the h/d clutch and its running great now. only 5 hours of stuffing @ so im gonna try and get a refund
