Nissan GU rear diff options

Post by moddedgu »

Does anyone know if an ARB air locker can be used in a factory locked GU diff.
I have a Factory locked rear GU diff complete and was wondering if I could use Centre out of it, fit my ARB to that centre and use it in my Std rear housing.

Cheers

No not an import it is from a 03 Ti 3.0ltr, the Ti had a vacuum rear locker. It has a 4.375 ratio and i thought I might be able to use the centre, I have 4.11 rear with ARB air locked centre.

so you want to change the diff ratio of your ARB to 4.375 ?
there is a big diff and small diff in the patrols so you need to make sure you have the correct one.

Yes I want to change the diff ratio, and they are both the H233 type diff's not the H260. So if they are both the small centre diff's does that mean the centres are interchangable

Hi David
The centers are interchangeable but the ARB and the OEM lockers have different off-set on the side gears so therefore the side shafts are different lengths. If you are just changing ratios you wont have any problems

the centres interchange,n no problem
the ring and pinions interchange aswell.

if you pull the lever out of the factory locker hosing you can put the arb'ed centre straight into it.
