A pommie in the US
Hello.I'm a fellow land rover nut job. I'm jealous of your options that you have down there. One day I'll get to your part of the world . Anyway I thought I would share some pics of my series II with mods. I work for Advance Adapters and have designed some rover stuff here. Hope you like.....

options.
You can still get a new defender, we cannot.I have had a few people mention using an atlas behind a zf. I don't see it ,the t/case is the best part of the drivetrain. I'm more inclined to shit can the rover engines and transmissions. My series II has a vortec 350 and a "granny" four speed adapted to a b suffix transfer case . With baby 33x12.50s and 3.54s with arbs,rd56, maxidrives and great basin rovers cvs , My low range is nearly 70 to one with over 350 ftlbs ( don't know metric speak, NM) on tap ,the limiting factor to the vehicles abilities are running out of day light under the car.It could climb a wall if it would stick! Junk yard dana 60s are cool by they are not as good as the US rags would have you believe. They are strong just because of there size but the material quality is poor. Having said that there is huge after market support out there , so the point is mout. I have a pair of forward control salisburys (101) with custom arbs for a 109 project. I'm trying not to do the "jeep thing" and replace the entire drivetrain with other brands. I would prefer to keep whats worth a damn and dispose of the rest.
Cheers, Matthew.
Cheers, Matthew.
if it is a series transfer case, i didnt think they were that strong, and not being fulltime fwd wouldnt be my pic.
D60's are not what id be looking for......full floating F9's....plenty strong enough and more aftermarket gear than you can poke a stick at, from drag racing, track racing, desert racing and rock crawling....

B suffix t case
The b suffix is a rare beast They are a large idler shaft seies transfer case
That has a 2.88 low range versus a 2.35 in all other large pin cases. You can put the gear set in any large pin case. They have proven quite durable The idler pin is massive in comparison to other makes(less The patrol). I'll post some pics of my car before the tear down. Some moab rubicon stuff.......Cheers, Matthew.
