I did this on a SWB. I had a BL though. I cut the mounts off each end. So then the towbar was up the way I wanted. Drilled new holes in the top of the chassi.
I also welded some 75x75 on to the ends and made a wrap around bar (had no lower qrt's either.

you would ahve to have a very long drop toung to get the tow ball anywhere near the right height with thoat thou. My standard tow bar is to high already.

thats the beauty of my high towbar as i didnt cut my old one and made it from scratch i just put the standard one on when i need to tow anything. only cost me $30 for the materials.

thanks heaps 4 the pics does anyone ever have issues with damaging the fuel tank. i took my original towbar off. then caved the fuel tank in and ruptured the seams on the tank. it now leaks with more than half a tank. ha ha.

someone told me you can raise the tank on the utes but not sure about a wagon.

it just involves lifting the tank and using the tank mounts ontop of the chassis instead of mounting under the chassis. although i havent seen it in person.

I had a LRA 130lt tank, that I had lifted 50mm. Didn't hit it much. And when I did I didn't really care. Seemed to take the abuse.
