Post by rumpig89 »

as above. seems to be leaking from around the flange where the reservoir mounts goes onto the big black bit (vaccum booster??). has been like this for a while better get onto it paint is stripped below it.

is there a standard seal kit for it or should i just get a chinese ebay replacement etc?

moneywise and hassle to change over?

I 've seen quite afew posts on this. There is a seal at the back of the master that leaks. If I remember right, it is a simple job. Remove your master from the booster without detaching the brake lines. Pop the rear seal out of the master and insert another one. If it has leaked into the booster, then you will also need to pull the booster, drain the brake fluid out of it and check the diaphram for holes. If it has holes or the rubber seal on the front of the booster is eaten away, you will need a booster rebuild kit. I think someon on patrol4x4 had posted up the part numbers for these items.

Wouldent worry about it too much, sides the paint it strips its pretty harmless.

Ive had the same for the last 10 years on mine. Replaced it, and started again pretty much a year later. have decided to leave it. :)
